I went to Long Island last weekend to celebrate my niece’s fifth birthday. I hadn’t seen my family since Christmas, and it was so nice to spend time with them, plus my niece was so excited. My (almost) 96 year old grandmother stopped by too. She’s fully vaccinated, and it was the first time I’d seen her in a year. It was an all around great weekend.
I have a beautiful carry-on bag, but I’ve been dreaming of vacation, and have been a frequent visitor of the Away website lately. I’m really into their new two-tone bags. I do have one of their mini bags that my cousin gave me for Christmas 2019 (guess what, I’ve never used it, because guess what happened less than 3 months later??) that I cannot wait to break out.
This kitchen stopped my scrolling in its tracks this week. I was unconvinced that scallop tiles really work in a kitchen, but I have been proven wrong, that tile combination is perfection.
Are you a spring person or a fall person? I’m super excited for spring, but I don’t care, autumn all the way. That said, give me all the Easter candy (I’m looking at you Cadbury mini eggs) over pumpkin spice any day.
I’ve been brainstorming painting my dining nook, because it’s too white, even for me. I’m not a particularly skilled painter, but I sort of want to see if I can pull-off strie? I think there is a high probability I just defer to regular paint, but I am intrigued. (Oh man, and I would love a limewash, but it doesn’t seem right for this space).
I haven’t cracked and purchased an air fryer or an instapot this year, but I don’t think I’m far from biting the bullet on the air fryer. I’ve heard good things about this one.
What’s your favorite cocktail? Mine is without a doubt a margarita. It’s impossible not to have a good time when you’re drinking one. The queen herself, Smitten Kitchen has a new, perfect one.
Fingers crossed I’m motivated to make some headway on my still unfinished apartment this weekend.
