I did a lot of texting this week with various friends about their reactions to the second vaccine shot. Most everyone has been pretty knocked out for a day afterward, but I think we all agree it’s very much worth it.
I baked a vanilla cake this week. I know I’ve mentioned my favorite chocolate cake, best pound cake, and my go-to chocolate chip cookies, but I don’t believe I’ve yet said that this is by far my family’s favorite vanilla cake. Sally knows what she’s doing.
My book club read of the month is The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner. It was my pick, so pressure is on for it to be good!
My jaw-dropping Instagram moments from this week: this monochromatic bedroom, this kitchen tile and this bathroom tile.
I reframed the Angela Allen pieces in my bedroom in these beauties from surprise, surprise…CB2. I have to say they are gorgeous and they’re really making the pieces look their best.
How beautiful are these watercolor flower prints? They just scream Mother’s Day (and Spring!) to me.
I know I mentioned here that I was excited for ramp season to make ramp pancakes. Well, I have been on a full-blown ramp kick. In addition to the pancakes, I have also made ramp butter and ramp pesto. It’s very nice that I live so close to the Union Square Green Market.
I just ordered this for my niece’s birthday. It makes me so excited for summer, hanging outside and playing lawn games.
I really need to invest in new food storage containers. I plan on going glass, probably something like this, but is it so wrong of me to want these pretty ones instead?
I think it’s supposed to be drizzly this weekend, and while that’s always a bit of a bummer (If I am going to sit inside on beautiful workdays….I want my weekends to be 10/10 weather-wise), it will at least force me to do some much needed cleaning and organizing. And I know there are worse ways to spend my time.
If you are celebrating Mother’s Day, I hope it’s lovely, and if you are not, I am sorry and stay strong, I know the holiday can be difficult. xoxo.
