I have been on a real doctor kick lately. I went for my annual skin check this week and saw the dentist. I know that this is really not a big deal (and a privilege to have easy access to medical care), but it feels so nice to check things off my to-do list and take care of myself. Plus, like I mentioned in last Friday’s post, I now have both vaccine shots! So thankful for science and doctors this week (and always, but I’m feeling it extra hard right now).
It’s ramp season! I never really got too into celebrating the vegetable, but last year, when we were in the pandemic early days and everything was shut-down, the Union Square Greenmarket was still open. I opted to get a bunch, and I made the most delicious ramp pancakes (like scallion pancakes, but with ramps). Needless to say, I have been anxiously awaiting their arrival for weeks now.
I’m on the lookout for new workout tops. I tend to like ones that are boxy, but semi-cropped. Outdoor Voices used to have a shirt called the cotton muscle tank which was my ideal workout top. It’s been discontinued for years now, and I’m still upset about it. I’m thinking of either this splurge, or this save to replace some of mine that have seen better days.
A few of my Instagram favorites this week: this tile, this dramatic staircase and this bananas chair.
I think I mentioned that my guilty pleasure is teenage fantasy television. I mean, I also like prestige TV, it’s not like I didn’t watch The Queen’s Gambit (how are Anya Taylor-Joy’s lips real and how is no one talking about how amazingly insane her top-lip shape is?? Okay, fine, she’s also extremely talented and we shouldn’t objectify her, but, c’mon), but when I’m mentally checked out, I want The Vampire Diaries or The Magicians or The Order. Heck, I also love the OG Buffy. This is my roundabout way of saying I just started watching a new one….Shadow and Bone.
I cleaned out my closet two weekends ago (okay, fine, I still have more to go, Marie Kondo would not be proud of me) and I always donate to Housing Works. I love their mission, and if you’re in NY and able to support them through donations or shopping at one of their awesome thrift shops, I highly recommend it. They also do some auctions for a few of their more in-demand items online.
I’m hoping for a restful and happy weekend, with a lot of outdoor-time sprinkled in.
