My sweet mom sent me a box of chocolates from the best chocolatier near my hometown. This week was a bit of a slog, but these candies have been a bright spot. Looking forward to lighting some candles and relaxing this weekend. In fairness, “relaxing” is currently the only real activity available to me (or anyone else) these days…..
I come from a long line of plant-killers, but I’m determined to fight the black-thumb gene. I received two plants for Christmas (ZZ and snake) and just ordered a pothos. Oh, and a new watering can. Fingers crossed all three survive and thrive.
My online shopping was out of control last weekend. I’m eagerly awaiting for my new MACHETE comb to arrive. I was definitely influenced by an Instagram ad.
My book club is reading The Last Flight by Julie Clark. I’m not very far along, but I think a thriller is just what I need to get back into the swing of reading….I have been doing much less of it in the past couple of months.
I make this soup almost every winter (I looked at the date on the recipe and it’s from 2009!), and I’m excited to make it again this weekend. It’s been a cold and snowy season and it’s the perfect winter meal (and very easy).
One benefit of all the time at home this past year is that my skin and hair have really benefited from the lack of make-up/heat styling. I’m looking into new skincare products to help keep the positive momentum going, and I most want to try this moisturizer, as recommended by Grace at The Stripe (she has the best skincare recommendations!) when my current one runs out.
My heart goes out to everyone impacted by the brutal snow this week. I’m all the more grateful for my own warm home and recognize how lucky I am to have it.
