The highlight of my week was a video my brother sent me of my two year old niece. I also listened to a LOT of music that was popular during my middle/high school days. @andiandreastudio had “Teenage Dirtbag” on her instastories this week and it led me down a really deep rabbithole. Made me very nostalgic, mainly for being allowed around crowds of people. So I sang loudly and off-key alone in my apartment. It felt nice.
This song reminds me of sitting in my car with my two best friends belting out the lyrics before going into a house party. This one reminds me of my eight grade dance. This one reminds me of lacrosse practice and this one reminds me of cross country meets. All very popular late-90s/early-00s jams, I was nothing if not basic. That aside, It will never cease to amaze me how songs can conjure such crystal clear, visceral memories.
Dreaming of future vacations while I’m homebound. Giraffe Manor in Kenya has been the number one place I want to go in my life for years now. Obviously followed up by a full safari. Maybe one day….
In the houseware department, I got the most instagramed pan in America (unclear if that’s a true statement), but still haven’t taken it out of the box! Maybe I should add cooking to this weekend’s agenda.
It’s been cold and pretty bleak in NYC lately, and I have to say, these slippers may not be the most new or exciting footwear in the world, but I promise they win all the comfort awards in the land.
I added the Nécessaire hand cream to my mom’s stocking this Christmas, and I am told it lives up to the hype. And she happens to be a very tough critic.
I desperately need new jeans, but Gen Z tells me skinny jeans are out. I don’t know what to do! Maybe next week I’ll have a solution. Until then, l’m still living my best sweatpant life.
